In the 1930s, a powerhouse was added on the property to provide heat for the property. The heating was generated in the building and then sent through underground lines to the cottages.

In 2010, the powerhouse was re-opened along with a skating trail beside it. The powerhouse provides washrooms and an area for people to put their skates on.
